Right here in the nation’s capitol, the HIV/AIDS epidemic rivals that of many Third World countries. Washington D.C. affectionately dubbed as “Chocolate City” is approximately 60 percent of people of African descent. And of it’s residents one in 20 is thought to have HIV, and 1 in 50 of its residents to have AIDS. Of the 3,269 HIV cases identified between 2001 and 2006 who tested positive nine of 10 were African American. “The Washington data is really a microcosm of what we already know: that AIDS in America today is a black disease,” said Phil Wilson, founder of the Black AIDS Institute, an HIV/AIDS think tank that focuses exclusively on AIDS among black Americans. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, African Americans account for half of all new HIV cases despite comprising 13 percent of the U.S. population. Equally alarming is that HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death for African American women between the ages of 25 and 44. At the “Women and Response to AIDS” panel at the at the 16th International AIDS Conference in Toronto in 2006, Sheila Johnson, founder of the Crump-Johnson Foundation in Washington D.C., pointed out that another at-risk population in the African American community is teenage girls. Seventeen percent of the U.S. teen population is African American. In 2004, 70 percent of all teens testing HIV-positive were black. One in 10 African American teenage girls test HIV-positive in the nation’s capital, the highest percentage in the country among this age group. When asked why such a high percentage test positive, Johnson said, “As long as girls see themselves as glorified sex objects in hip-hop videos, HIV/AIDS will increase within this population.”

Damon Dash ruffled a few feathers recently with comments during an interview with Complex Magazine. The entrepreneur made some revealing statements about the relationship between Jay-Z and Kanye West, alleging that ‘Ye had some love lost for his “Big Brother” since Hov chose not to give him his chain during a 2003 concert in Chicago. But with his comments now widespread, Dash seems to be singing a slightly different tune. “It ain’t even that big of a deal. At this point, it’s just gossip,” Dash told XXLMag.com when asked to clarify his remarks. To some, though, it did seem to be a big deal, as people in West’s camp wasted little time in releasing a response denying his negative feelings towards Jay. “I could really care less, [but] I’m sure at this level in their careers, they don’t wanna be dealing with bullshit like that,” Dash continued. “Sometimes, I gotta watch the shit I say, because it’s more impactful to other people than it is to me. More News Surrounding The Jennifer Hudson Case
If you didn't know William Balfour, the son of the woman in the video, was arrested a few days ago on charges surrounding the murder of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother, and young nephew. His mother seems irrate at the manner in which her son was arrested--William was questioned immdeiately following the murders and was not plaed under arrest until last week, some months after the murders. I just hope that the police get to the bottome of this heinous crime and more importantly get the right person.

What do I think? Well I've never felt that her face was one of her selling attributes--to be honest I want to know who the hell gave her the oppurtunity to model with anything more than a thong on? She looks like and alien to me at times--her face is superflat and skinny, her lips look like they belong on a 300-pounder, but at the same time her nose resemble Michael Jackson's after the initial surgery. If I had to choose however, it would be picture #5; probaly due to the fact that her entire face isn't shown.

Webbie Shows May Pose A Hazard To Your Life
A Florida man was stabbed outside a Boca Raton nightclub early Friday (November 28), following a performance by rapper Webbie.
According to local news station WPTV, police were called to Club Pulse after shots were fired outside. When authorities arrived, one man was found with a stab wound, but no one had been shot. The unidentified man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, reports BallerStatus.com. It is unclear what his condition is at this time. Reports indicate that nearly 700 were in attendance to see Webbie. No other injuries were reported. In related news, on Sunday (November 24), during the early morning hours the previous weekend, a 20-year-old woman who had just left a concert in Thibodaux, LA — where Webbie had performed — was shot twice in the head.
Shaundra LaShae Day and her boyfriend were on their way home after the concert, when someone fired on their car, according to reports. She suffered bullet wounds to her forehead and right eye, and is currently in critical condition in Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s intensive care unit, as reported by BallerStatus.com.
